2 cups vital wheat gluten
1/3 cup nutritional yeast
2/3 cup pinto beans mashed well (we put them in food processor for a couple pulses)
3 Tbsp. tamari
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 cups vegetable broth
In a large bowl combine vital wheat gluten, nutritional yeast and Bittersweet Herb Farm Smoked Onion Seasoning. Mix together well and make a well in the middle. Add tamari, pinto beans, vegetable broth and olive oil.
Mix well and knead for about 2 minutes let rest for 2 minutes and knead again for about a minute. Roll into a tube shape. Wrap in parchment paper then in aluminum foil. Place in a baking dish in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour turning every 20 minutes. Remove from oven and serve.
Black Pepper Gravy
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
3/4 cups water
In a small pan on medium high heat, melt butter and slowly add flour. cook stirring constantly. Slowly add water until a thick creamy paste forms. Add the Bittersweet Herb Farm Black Pepper Finishing Sauce and stir until blended well.
Serve over your fresh baked Seitan Roast!
